Safari Overview
Spread the Eyasi experience across two days so you are not racing the clock. Night one in the Ngorongoro / Karatu highlands puts you within easy reach of Hadzabe communities at dawn — the best light and the most respectful rhythm for everyone.
Day one introduces Datoga life at a relaxed pace; day two belongs to the Hadzabe morning. The itinerary suits guests combining culture with a northern safari who want depth without spectacle.
Detailed Itinerary
Arusha or Karatu — Datoga afternoon & highlands night
Morning pickup from Arusha (or join at Karatu if you are already on safari). Scenic drive via the escarpment toward Lake Eyasi. After lunch — picnic or lodge — spend the afternoon with Datoga hosts: forge, homestead, and conversation about pastoral life today.
Drive to your Karatu / highlands lodge for dinner and an early night; tomorrow starts before dawn.
Hadzabe sunrise visit — return to Arusha
Very early transfer to Lake Eyasi. As the sky brightens, walk with Hadzabe hosts in the cool hours — activities follow the community’s real morning, not a checklist. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast, freshen up, then drive back to Arusha (or connect to your next park) with arrival late afternoon.
Optional short stop at Mto wa Mbu market if time and interest allow.
